Furesh Shop Announces Capitol Hill Retail Opening
Furesh Shop, a costume design and fabrication studio specializing in custom fursuits and serving the Pacific Northwest's anthropomorphic art scene, has announced it will open a new retail location on Capitol Hill's E Pike in early 2027. The retail opening is slated for January 7th, marking a significant addition for furry artists, cosplay enthusiasts, and the local creative community.
Background: Furesh’s Growth in Fursuit Craftsmanship
Known for its expertise in custom fursuits with a focus on mobility, durability, and comfort, Furesh Shop has developed a strong reputation in the Seattle cosplay and furry artist scenes. In addition to full bodysuits, the studio creates standalone costume parts such as paws and tails, appeals to a broad clientele, and supports the growing demand for high-quality, tailored creations within the anthropomorphic art community.
New Location on E Pike and the Team Behind Furesh
The new Furesh Shop will be located at 1209 E Pike, just east of 12th Ave, in the space formerly occupied by Sergius & Bacchus, a men’s fashion boutique that debuted in 2023. Sergius & Bacchus has since relocated a few blocks west into the transformed cafe space previously home to Shikorina Bakeshop, which closed in early 2026.
Furesh is led by founder and lead maker Austin Solid, whose popular Seattle persona @aiko_thewolf has become well known within the community. Solid’s collaborations with local costume fabricators and pattern designers have helped grow the Furesh brand. In addition to his costume work, Solid is recognized for developing the Sad Dog Club automotive lifestyle brand and contributing his skills as an auto mechanic.
Ownership also includes Miles Jonard, who brought retail experience from The Plant Store, which moved to lower Pike/Pine in 2024, strengthening the team behind Furesh’s latest venture.
Transforming the Space for a Furry-Focused Future
Currently, the Furesh crew is hard at work preparing the new E Pike location for its upcoming opening. Their renovation efforts, including wall demolition and flooring updates, are laying the groundwork for a dedicated hub for furry artists, design commissions, minor repairs, and specialized fursuit cleaning services.
The store aims to provide a retail home for the Pacific Northwest's cosplay and anthropomorphic art community, addressing their needs for both custom work and ongoing costume maintenance.
Pike/Pine Retail Expansions on the Horizon
The Furesh Shop opening is part of a broader trend of new retail ventures in the Pike/Pine corridor. Alongside Furesh, Charlie’s Queer Books is also expanding into Capitol Hill with a new store, cafe, and event space on E Pike, further energizing the neighborhood’s cultural and business landscape.
